Jigraffe is a development of the jigsaw construction of Mother and child. The base is split vertically, the original plan being to slump sheets of glass laid inside after bisque firing. This met with limited success and the final finish has glass cut to the size of the holes. The vertical sandwich is clamped in place by the four-sided neck section, with the head slotted on top for balance.
