Out of touch

I see you’re determined to paint the town red
but I feel I must give you a warning, my dear:
most carnal attraction takes place before bed.

I could argue, but some things are best left unsaid
and I’ve slugged back three Breezers so don’t come too near.
There’ll be plenty to follow when I paint the town red.

You have high moral standards, for you are well-bred,
so take my advice and I won’t interfere:
most dissatisfaction takes place in a bed.

This glitzy new outfit will knock ’em all dead.
I’ve stacked shelves all week to get the right gear,
and tonight is the night I shall paint the town red.

Don’t get carried away by a promise to wed.
A man’s true intentions might first seem unclear:
most promise-retraction takes place after bed.

I’m not in much danger of being misled:
my innocent silence is just a veneer.
I know what I know when I paint the town red –
that most of the action takes place in the head.
